Meet Linda, aka Ms. Bubbles
Hi, I'm Linda, but everyone calls me Ms. Bubbles! My journey in water safety education spans over 15 years and two states. I began teaching swim lessons in New Jersey, where I worked with schools, community centers, and families across the state. During my time in NJ, I developed the Flotation Aided Swim Training (FAST) method, a progressive approach that uses USCG-approved Type III life jackets to help students build confidence in the water safely and naturally.
After years of success in New Jersey, I brought FAST Swim Program to Northeast Florida, where I now serve families in St. Johns, St. Augustine, and Jacksonville. The warm Florida climate allows for year-round instruction, and the abundance of pools, beaches, and waterways makes water safety education more important than ever. Whether working with a 4-year-old who has never been in a pool or a 70-year-old who has avoided the water for a lifetime, my goal is always the same: to help every student feel safe, confident, and capable in the water.
My Teaching Philosophy
Every student starts somewhere different, and every student deserves to succeed.
Ms. Bubbles in Action
Every lesson is hands-on and personal. Ms. Bubbles works directly with each swimmer, using the FAST flotation-aided method to build confidence and proper technique from the very first session.
From Fear to Confidence
So many of my students begin by saying, "I'm not getting in the water." By the end of their lessons, they're saying, "I'm swimming!" That transformation is what drives everything I do. I meet each student exactly where they are and never rush the process.
Safety First, Always
The FAST method is built on the principle that safety and fun go hand in hand. By starting with USCG-approved flotation, students can focus on learning proper technique without the panic that comes from feeling unsupported. Confidence grows naturally when fear is removed from the equation.
Every Age, Every Ability
I teach ages 4 to 94, and I truly mean that. Children, teens, adults, and seniors all deserve access to water safety education. I have worked with students who have physical disabilities, anxiety disorders, and past traumatic experiences with water. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and that is what makes this work so rewarding.
Why "Ms. Bubbles"?
Every great nickname has a story behind it.
The Story Behind the Name
When I first started teaching, one of the very first skills I would work on with young swimmers was blowing bubbles in the water. It is a foundational technique for breath control and helps children get comfortable putting their faces in the water. Before long, every child in my classes knew me as "the bubbles lady." Parents started calling me Ms. Bubbles, and the name stuck. To this day, students young and old call me Ms. Bubbles, and I would not have it any other way. It is a reminder that every great swimmer starts with something small, like blowing bubbles.
